Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is playing a crucial role in transforming businesses; my primary focus is how it can benefit sales and marketing. AI assists with automating processes and clarifying analytics, which will ultimately drive growth and efficiency.


AI also automates repetitive tasks, allowing the team to concentrate on more strategic activities. For marketing, it can also provide first drafts of content including scripts, social media posts, and general outreach pieces.

I've already taken the initiative to mentor fellow BDs regarding my Digital Outreach Process and how I utilize AI.

Finally, by analyzing current data, AI can enable Associa to better understand customer behavior, preferences, and needs. This will help us tailor our marketing strategies, leading to more effective campaigns.

Action Plan

If I am fortunate enough to become Vice President of Sales Optimization, I would like to offer my vision for the first ninety (90) days. To effectively tackle the needs of our department, I believe these areas should be my initial focus:
  1. Increasing Sales of Integrated Products and Services at the Point of Sale (POS)/Onboarding Process. Although, we obviously need to expand the reach within existing accounts as well.
    1. Standardize a POS/Onboarding procedure to identify needs and match our products and services appropriately to incoming accounts.
    2. Create detailed reporting to give insight into the full breakdown of our current accounts and the services that they use. This will allow us to better tailor marketing/outreach to match accounts and services.
  2. Grow Associa’s share of existing markets and expand into new ones.
    1. By using available technology, we can not only target the decision-makers directly but also better identify where prospects are and what they need. This can be accomplished through video content, PPC, and cross-platform macros.
  3. Improve the Sales Process to eliminate behavior that stifles growth and frustrates BDs.
    1. I’ve already modified my methods to save time and effort regarding prospect outreach, relationship building, and general follow-up. Implementing these and other innovative processes company-wide will surely increase sales and enhance the employee experience.
While this list doesn’t include all the initiatives to be addressed in the first three (3) months, they are the ones that I will outline here. The initial 30 days will focus on detailed reporting, so I will concentrate on data gathering and analytics. This will be accomplished with internal reports, branch surveys, and the creation of several advisory committees. I will put together a framework to identify the data to be collected and the use of that data relating to the goals above.
During the second month or phase, the emphasis will shift to the creation or modification of processes; these include the development of standardized POS/Onboarding Procedures, inserting technology into the Sales Process, and the creation of tailored marketing strategies. However, data regarding potential clients outside the current operational areas will most effectively be obtained via PPC responses and therefore those marketing strategies will be crafted in subsequent months. Advisory committees will make recommendations based on their experience, available data, and the guidelines that are presented to them (cost-savings, ease of use, etc.).
The third month will see the launch of targeted go-to-market initiatives, the implementation of the POS/Onboarding process for integrated products and services, and possible piloting of new service models like 'Community Assist' and 'À La Carte' options. Throughout the entire ninety days and beyond, regular monitoring and evaluation will be crucial. Performance indicators will be reviewed against targets, and adjustments will be made as necessary to ensure the success of each initiative.

Why Me?

I’m confident that my past success in sales, operations, start-ups, and… yes… optimization gives me the right balance to launch this new role effectively. I’ve not only managed others, grew sales revenues, but have created effective business processes for my teams. I believe my unique skillset of sales (relationship building, marketing creation, and follow-up procedures), technology (digital creation, automation, and innovative solutions), and business acumen (business ownership, management, and operational experience) will lead to success as Vice President of Sales Optimization. Finally, there is no substitution for internal knowledge and experience in this industry, Associa, and specifically this Sales Department. Not only will it give me the required head start for this position, but it will give me credibility to those that I work with and oversee.
